Rather than make it a poor version of the Olympics, limit it to sports played to a high standard in the Commonwealth. So, Hockey, Lacrosse, Netball, Bowls, Rugby Sevens - too much in season for cricket and Rugby League unfortunately - and, why not, darts and snooker.
Thanks! Raises the thorny question of whether darts and snooker are sports, but that’s for another day… Your list is very heavy on team sports, which probably won’t work for Glasgow 2026, but an interesting shout for future editions
I assume they'll add temporary seats at the athletics. Boxing has a lot of governance issues, sadly. Would love cricket to be in there, but seems extremely unlikely.

Thanks Tom! There will be ample international cricket - men’s and women’s - in the 2026 calendar. Although not necessarily in Glasgow I grant you
